Sitting down on a low toilet and standing back up is one of the hardest moves in the house. A little extra height and something solid to push against usually solve it.
Before you choose toilet support
- Height is the fix, so measure first. Seated, the knees should sit about level with the hips. Measure the gap on the current toilet before you pick how much a riser adds.
- Push, don’t pull. Arms or a rail beside the seat let them push up with both hands. That is steadier than pulling on a towel bar or the sink, which were never built for it.
- Buy for the bowl you have. Raised seats and frames are made for round or elongated bowls. Check which one is in the bathroom before you order.

Prefer to buy direct?
Vive Health, a manufacturer we partner with, makes its own raised toilet seats and safety rails and sells them from its own store. Buying direct means one maker handles the order, the shipping and any question afterwards. Prices there are set by Vive, not by us.
Need more lift than a raised seat?
For someone who can no longer push up from a raised seat, Dignity Lifts, a manufacturer we partner with, makes electric toilet lifts that raise and lower the seat with an up/down switch. They are a much bigger purchase than anything above and are sold from Dignity Lifts' own store. Prices there are set by Dignity Lifts, not by us.
