About HomeSafe Collective

Who we are

HomeSafe Collective is a small
research project about staying in your own home, safely, for longer.

It is run by Kevin and Laura Fox. Laura has been a licensed
California REALTOR® for more than twenty years, and a good share of that work has been with
older homeowners and their families — people deciding whether to adapt the house or leave
it. The same questions came up again and again. Which grab bar actually holds. Whether a raised
seat is enough or you need a rail. What a stairlift really costs. Nobody was answering them
plainly.

So we started writing the answers down.

How we choose what to show you

We sort products by the problem you are trying to solve, not by
brand. For each one we look at what it is actually rated to hold, whether it fits a standard
home without renovation, and whether real buyers report it lasting. We check that every product
we link to is genuinely available before we publish, and we re-check it — links that go
dead get replaced, not left to rot.

We are not clinicians. Nothing here is medical advice, and we say so
plainly on the pages where it matters. For anything involving a diagnosis, a fall history, or a
change in mobility, the right first call is an occupational therapist or your doctor —
they can assess the person and the house together, which a website cannot.

How this is paid for

HomeSafe Collective earns affiliate commission. As an Amazon
Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, and we take commission from some manufacturers
when you buy direct. It costs you nothing extra, and it does not change what we recommend
— we link to the product that answers the question, including when the better price is
straight from the manufacturer rather than through us.

If a product is wrong for a situation, we would rather say so.
A site that recommends everything is worth nothing.
