A scooter is for the person who can walk a little but not far — the parking lot, the store, the length of the boardwalk. You steer with a tiller, not a joystick, which suits hands that are stiff but not weak.
Before you choose a scooter
- Three wheels turn tighter; four wheels stand steadier. Indoors and in shops, three. Sidewalks, ramps and uneven ground, four. Pick for where it will actually be used.
- Range is quoted for a light rider on flat ground. Plan on about two-thirds of the advertised miles, less with hills.
- Ask what it weighs in pieces, not in total. Most travel scooters split into three or four parts; the heaviest piece is the one that has to go in the trunk.

Vive Health, a manufacturer we partner with, makes its own mobility scooters and sells them from its own store. Buying direct means one maker handles the order, the shipping and any question afterwards. Prices there are set by Vive, not by us.
